Something I Don't Want to Share

There’s a pain I keep inside,
A hurt I’ve learned to always hide.
I’ve cried alone so many nights,
Fought my battles without light.
All my life, I cared so much,
Put others first, gave love and such.
No one asked if I was okay,
They just took, then walked away.
I stayed quiet, played my part,
Even when it broke my heart.
But the day I chose to think of me,
They called me selfish, couldn’t see.
They didn’t know what I’d been through,
The things I hid, the things I knew.
They didn’t hear my silent screams,
Or how I gave up on my dreams.
Now I smile, but it’s not real,
There’s so much I still feel.
But I keep it locked with extra care
Because it’s something I don’t want to share. Poem By Zindagi_Sona Sonali Choudhary
