In my waiting
In my waiting I forgot
How much he stood by me, how much he cared
How he heard me patiently, everytime I felt scared.
He has his own struggles, he surely does,
He still makes time for me, without much fuss.
He let’s me rave and rant, speak my heart and mind,
He has been so sweet and so very kind.
Through his long busy days, and overworked nights,
his warmth and love shine through, his calls and messages, my delight.
He tries his best, that I know,
Against the tide, against the flow.
But that one day I simply forgot,
About my precious mate, my lucky mascot.
My man, my companion, who I so love,
Imminently caught up in something he owed.
He missed to message, he forgot to call,
I was shaken with rage, my mind on a roll.
The wounds from the past, I hold on tight,
They dim my glow, when everything is alright.
I look for gloom where none exists,
Doubts on our kinship grow and persists.
Fear of abandonment clutch my heart,
In those sudden, spurious moments, I let sanity depart.
I cry, I scream, my mind in turmoil,
My wrath and insecurity are out to foil.
All the love that exists, ignited by anxiety,
All the warmth suddenly cold, alone, taken over by vanity.
In that moment I simply forgot,
Love is more than a call and a message not sent.
I forgot, how much he and his love truly meant.
