Poem - Love And Rage

I hold love in my heart and rage in my stomach.
I digest every word spilling from your mouth,
But fail to speak my mind,
Swallowing silence until it burns.
I hold love in my heart and rage in my stomach.
My heart, fragile, shatters when it falls,
While rage simmers quietly beneath,
Waiting for the day I let it speak.
Those tight knots
Make my stomach weak,
A twisting ache
Between devotion and fury.
And still,
I hold love in my heart
Like it could save me,
Even as the rage
Threatens to tear me apart.
