Poem - One More Try

I wake up before the sun each day,
Books beside me, dreams far away.
People say, “It’s just an exam,”
But they don’t know how hard I am.
Pages blur, my eyes still burn,
Failures come, yet I return.
Sometimes I cry, sometimes I break,
But I start again, for my own sake.
My friends are working, living free,
While I’m still stuck with books and tea.
Mom says, “Have faith, your time will come,”
And I smile, though my heart feels numb.
There are nights I question why,
Why I even give this one more try.
But then I see that little dream
Wearing the badge, proud eyes gleam.
I want to make my parents proud,
To hear my name called in the crowd.
It’s not about fame, not about pay,
It’s just to prove, I’ll find my way.
So I’ll study again, through tears and pain,
Lose some sleep, but not in vain.
Because one day, I’ll finally see
The result I worked so hard to be.
