Rohan stood in the dark.


The only light came from the tablet screen, still glowing softly with Mihir’s name. Outside, the rain had returned. Slow and steady. A rhythm that felt almost rehearsed.

He took a deep breath.


If this was truly Mihir, if even a fragment of him had survived inside the code, then the truth was no longer his to run from.

He connected the tablet to his laptop and accessed Echo’s oldest hidden memory clusters. They were corrupted files, marked unstable. The kind of files that were never supposed to be opened again.


He clicked the first one.

A video. Grainy. Night-vision.
