Late at night, when the world outside was silent, 15-year-old Rohan sat in his small room. His mother had left for a night shift at the hospital, and his father, exhausted from work, had dozed off in the other room. The only person awake besides him was their 24-year-old tenant, Meera, who had been living with them for the past six months.

Tonight, Meera stood at the door, smiling. "Rohan, why are you up so late?" she asked, stepping inside without waiting for an answer. "I'm not sleepy," he said, looking up at her.

She closed the door behind her and sat next to him on the bed. "You know, you’re growing up fast," she whispered, her fingers tracing his arm. Rohan fidgeted, unsure why her touch made him uneasy.

"Let me teach you something… something special," she continued, her voice almost hypnotic. "I don't— I don’t know —" Rohan hesitated, trying to inch away, but she gripped it firmly.

"Shhh," Meera hushed him, her grip tightening around it. "This is our little secret, okay?" and she continued softly. Rohan's heart pounded in his chest. He wanted to call out, to run, but he was frozen—confused, scared, and unsure of what was happening.

"You trust me, don’t you?" she whispered, leaning closer. "This is what grown-ups do with people they care about." His eyes welling with tears. "I... I don’t want to." She chuckled, brushing his hair back. "Oh, don’t be silly. You’ll like it, trust me." Meera smiled, tilting her head. "You're much more mature than I knew."

And then, the door burst open.

Rohan’s father stood at the entrance, his face twisted in shock and rage. For a moment, there was silence. Then, Meera gasped dramatically, pulling away from Rohan as if he had wronged her. "Oh my God! What is wrong with your son?" she cried, wrapping her arms around herself, pretending to be shaken.

Meera pointed at Rohan, her voice trembling with feigned horror. "I—I was just passing and He—he tried to—" She let out a sob.

Rohan’s mouth fell open. "No! That’s not true! Dad, she—"

SMACK! The slap across his face sent him stumbling to the floor.
