The Things We Don't Say! (Men's Day Special)

So I recently realized something, Men’s Day exists.

Yeah. I know, shocking.

It’s like that one app we never open, but it’s been sitting on our phones for years.

Because honestly, no one really remembers it.

We get one day, November 19,

and half the world goes, “Oh wait… that’s a thing?”

Now, don’t get me wrong..

I am not complaining.

We’re simple creatures.

Give us food, Wi-Fi, and a little peace, and that's heaven for us.

But somewhere between being “strong,” “mature,” and “sorted”, we kinda lost permission to just… be.

Have you ever noticed how we communicate?

I will give you an example; imagine there are 2 bros talking to each other:

Bro 1: “You good?” Bro 2: “Ya bro.” Bro 1: “Okay cool”.

That’s therapy for us.

We don’t say “I’m feeling low”,

We just say, “I’m tired”, and then play FIFA till 3 AM hoping the sadness logs out.

It’s funny, right?

We’re expected to fix everything, but no one teaches us how to fix ourselves.

We’re taught to open jars, not emotions.

To lift weights, not conversations.

To earn money, not moments.

We don’t cry in public, not because we don’t want to,

but because we’re scared someone will say,

"Bro, you okay?” and we’ll actually not be.

And yet… we love silently.

We’ll never write poems for you, but we’ll make sure you reach home safely.

We’ll never say “I miss you", but we’ll send a meme at midnight that somehow says it for us.

We’ll act like we don’t care, but deep down, we’re carrying half the world on our shoulders, and still smiling like it’s light.

So this Men’s Day, maybe don’t post a quote about “real men don’t cry”.

Just check in.

Ask your dad how he’s doing, not how work is going.

Text that friend who went quiet.

Appreciate that guy who’s always cracking jokes, because he’s probably the one hiding the most.

We don’t need much.

Just a little space to be human again.

Because behind every “I’m fine", there’s a story that never got told.

Happy Men’s Day to us.

We don’t need to be perfect.

Just be present.
